Yesterday 21.01.2020 was on an excursion to Chernobyl. Very informative, informative. Thank you Kava.ua
Using this site I was able to pick up a cool gift. Friends liked it, got an unforgettable experience. Recommend.
Thank you Chernobyl.ua and Chernobylzone. Everything is at the highest level. Recommend.
Cool resource. I could easily pick up a great tour. Recomend for everybody.
The complete decay of the last radioactive element in contaminated territories (plutonium-239) to the state of natural material will occur in 26486 (24500 years after the accident).
Mushrooms, caraway seeds, and some forest berries (for example, blueberries) absorb radiation to the greatest extent. You should be especially careful with these foods.
Radiation does not spread evenly around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, but settles in islands. Some sites in the 10-kilometer zone are ten times more dangerous than the territory adjacent to the nuclear power plant.
According to various sources, from 600 to 800 thousand people from all over the USSR took part in the liquidation of the consequences at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Between 4,000 and 10,000 people died from the effects of the explosion. More than 70 thousand of them became disabled.
A radiation leak from an explosion at the fourth Chernobyl nuclear power unit is equated to the explosion of 500 atomic bombs dropped in Hiroshima in 1945.
As a result of the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant on April 26, 1986, the fourth nuclear reactor of the station was completely destroyed, 97% of the radioactive nuclear fuel was released into the atmosphere.
The group format of the excursion is suitable for those who would like to see everything quickly, informatively and interestingly. For fans of the Exclusion Zone, a private tour is better – you will see more, in from the point of view of the flexibility of movement around locations and the personal approach of guides.
Group (planned) trips to Pripyat and the Chernobyl exclusion zone are held several times a month. Their goal is to reduce the cost of visiting the Chernobyl zone for people traveling alone, or in small groups, collecting them in the same bus. This is the main difference from guided tours.
To participate in a planned departure, you must: submit an application form in advance to obtain permission to enter the Zone, arrive at the collection point without delay, dressed in closed clothes, take your passport with you. After boarding the bus, there is a briefing on the rules of staying in the Zone, watching a movie. After passport control at the checkpoint, an excursion begins with a visit to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and the Sarcophagus, the cities of Pripyat, Chernobyl and abandoned villages.
Crossing the border of the Chernobyl zone through the checkpoint “Dytyatky”, check passport documents.
Overview of the abandoned village of Zalissia.
Visit to the city of Chernobyl: memorial park, cemetery of flooded barges, memorial “Who saved the world” near the fire station, exposition of robotic technicians who took part in elimination of the accident.
Crossing the border of a 10-kilometer zone through the “Lelyov” checkpoint.
Visit to the territory of the DSLR “Arc – 1” (“Chernobyl-2”), inspection of a 150-meter antenna of horizon tracking.
Kopachi village, almost completely buried underground after the accident, visiting the surviving kindergarten.
Photo stop on the way to the Chernobyl NPP, opposite the unfinished 5th and 6th units of the station and the nuclear waste storage facility.
Ch NPP territory: memorial near the administrative building, feeding of catfish (in the warm season), observation deck of NSC “Ark” (“sarcophagus”).
The territory of the former Red Forest and the Pripyat Stella.
Walking around Pripyat. A large group is usually divided into 2 subgroups, each following its own route. All of them, however, cover the most famous objects of the ghost town: DK Energetic, amusement park with Ferris wheel, stadium, Prometheus cinema, kindergarten, school, Lazurny pool, city pier, hotel “Police”, the police, the fire department, the hospital, where the first victims of the accident were delivered, dwelling houses (the list of objects may vary depending on their accessibility and weather conditions).
Return to Chernobyl, close control at Lelyov checkpoint and a delicious lunch of imported products at Chernobyl canteen # 19 (Chernobyl) (optional, UAH 170).
Exit control at the exit from the Alienation Zone at the checkpoint “Dytyatky”.
If you avoid the company of random fellow travelers and like to travel alone, or with friends, then we will organize a tour specifically for you. You can order an excursion to the Exclusion Zone for yourself or a group of your friends / colleagues at the most convenient time for you.
You can also choose the places you want to visit, and our partners will offer you the most interesting and rational route options.
During the trip you will be accompanied by a professional guide, an employee of the Zone, and, if necessary, an interpreter.
For an additional fee, you can order a delicious and environmentally friendly 3-course dinner in the Chernobyl dining room.
On the day of the tour, you will receive a dose of radiation equal to one flight on the plane. That’s 3600 times less than a full body CT (computed tomography) scan. Besides, we only do tours on clean tourist routes.
A road almost 150 kilometers long separates the cities of Kiev and Chernobyl. The trip to the exclusion zone starts from Kiev – it takes about two hours to get there.
You need to determine the desired date and type of excursion, after which you need to send an application form participation. Wait for the date of the tour and arrive at the meeting place in time.
According to the laws of Ukraine, you can visit the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone from the age of 18. The notarized consent of the parents or their presence on the trip does not change the situation.
Both passports are suitable for group registration. The main thing is that the passport you have indicated in the application form should be with you at the checkpoints of the Zone. Starting from March 1, 2015, Russians need to have their passports with them to enter Ukraine. No visa required.
You can try it. However, keep in mind that you will be responsible before the law of Ukraine. In addition, such excursions can be extremely dangerous to your health, as only experienced guides can conduct a tour of clean tourist routes.
The tour can be canceled only under unusual circumstances (such as: weather conditions under which it is not possible to get into the Zone physically, in case of accidents or acts of public authorities, making it impossible to travel, etc.)
We can tell from our experience, there was only one cancellation of the trip – December 26, 2012, when the exclusion zone for the first time since the accident was in the state of emergency due to broken power lines and snow drifts. The workers of the Exclusion Zone were evacuated. Visitors were not allowed of course. Money were returned to the tourists, and those who have put the tour put off got bonuses.
Chernobyl.ua team recommends spring and autumn season. However, at any season, including winter and summer, the Exclusion Zone has its special charm.
Tours to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone happen all year round, the weather doesn’t influence the tour schedule.
The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is the regime territory, visits are only allowed accompanied by a special guide and with the officially issued program of the tour.
Illegal visits to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone are violating the Ukrainian law and can be punished.
